Daily Scripture Threshing for Monday, April 20 2020
Today’s Text: Romans 5:1-11
Key Verse: Romans 5:5 (NIV): "And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”
Alexander the Great was sharing his estate with his soldiers to ensure that they are not troubled over the welfare of their dependents while they war against Asia. When he had shared nearly all his estate, a General asked what he would reserved for himself. "Hope!" Answered the king.
If this king can be so strengthened by his earthly hopes that he feared no loss; believers in Christ have even a greater hope which never disappoints or deceives. Our hope in and through Jesus Christ our Lord is irrevocably certain of its end and object. No matter the present pain or pressure; poverty or penury, we have a great hope reservation which will surely come and not tarry.
Quote for the Day: "Thoughts of my golden crown at the end of the thorn crown holds up my precious jewel of hope.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, please give me the desire to wait until my faith is rewarded by sight, in Jesus mist glorious name. Amen.
With all my love and prayer,
Rev Simon Wale Olatunji, PhD
