Daily Scripture Threshing for Wednesday, April 8, 2020
Today’s Text: John 6:14-21
Key Verse: John 6:20 (Aramaic Bible in Plain English): “But Yeshua said to them, “I AM THE LIVING GOD, do not be afraid”.”
Facing multitudes of somewhat confusing and exaggerated information on the dreary and depressing pandemic of the novel coronavirus; our world has been more plagued by fear than the effects of the virus. But we are grateful for the authority of the word of God to alley all our fears.
Like us, Christ’s earliest disciples had legitimate cause for alarm until Jesus appears to them and declares His majestic”It is I.” This declaration points back to Exodus, and reveals Him as the Sustainer and Protector of their life. It points to the truth that He is lif’ true Source. Thus, based on this truth — that “It is I” — you have a sure basis not to be afraid. “It is I,” I am with you; my previous works speak of me; no one but “I” can walk over your Sea; no one but “I” can calm your storms.
This is the word of the Lord in this dark hours of trials; upon the noisome tempest of our lives; in our furnace of persecution; and in this devastation of pestilence. “It is I” watching you though you couldn’t see me, or though you see me and couldn’t recognize my Divine Personality and my nearness with you because you’re so troubled. ”It is I,” let my eternal love and my power to save dismiss your fears.

Prayer: Lord, speak your word and calm my storms. Speak and cast my fears away, in Jesus Name. Amen.
