Learning from Jabez (Part Ten)

Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Monday, July 22 2019

Our Text: 1 Chronicles 4:1-10

Key Verse: 1 Chronicles 4:10 (KJV): “And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.”

Many believer ask God’s blessings today as if God were broke, or He’ll go bankrupt if He should have to attend to their prayers. Jabez understood how the commonwealth of heaven works. He would never settle for less. He knew how the craftsmen of heaven specializes in territory expansion. He understood the safety package of divine security; so he’d not settle for any less. We can’t be sure if he took a cue from Elisha who would not ask for anything but a double portion. What is it that you need God to do for you? If you’d ask big, knock loud and seek intently, the resources of heaven abounds much more than the sands of the Sea.
