Daily Scripture Threshing for Sunday, March 26, 2023
Today’s Text: Proverbs 14:26-35
Key Verses: Proverbs 14:34 (ESV): “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.”

We’ve been on a weeklong intense prayer for Nigeria. God loves every nation of the world; but it is very clear that He has some great interest and specific agenda for some. We foresee a re-birth place in our spirit amid great and manifold spiritual revelations for the Nigeria. Yet, amid all the promises and prophecies, God has a nudge for all of us, in time; and not just for Nigerians or Nigeria, Americans or America, but for everyone, and every nation. Incidentally, the text neutral; not targeted at any specific nation, but practically applies to all.
A nation's real greatness consists not in its magnificence, national reserves, conquests, human or natural resources, military might, scientific or technological prowess—no, not in the vastness of it’s lands or in the skillfulness of its people; but in its observance of one biblical absolute — righteousness, and it’s avoidance of another absolute — sin. Original words for both words give no room for any middle ground or alternatives. Meaning that God’s standard is clear on our desire for truly great and exalted nation.
The way out of our nations’ downward slides and to true greatness is a return to righteousness and all it symbolizes—impartial equity between people; public countenance and restoration of faith in God; a discountenance and discontinuance of moral depravities; restoration of our values, virtue, and velocities, the protecting and preserving of virtuous heritage of kindness to strangers. All these things bring global, political and spiritual honors on nations, and exalt the people before God. And, of course, we all have seen how much reproach our sins and backsliding have brought to and on us.
Quote for the Day: “God calls nations to humble themselves, repent, return to Him with all their hearts, and embrace His righteousness. That’s how they are great at all, or great again." (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for Your great love for nations of the world. Thank You because You are willing to restore our nation’s landmarks of great spiritual heritage upon which it was founded — in Jesus Christ's name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
