A Little Kindness

Daily Scripture Threshing for Friday, January 28, 2022

Today’s Text: Ephesians 4:25-32

Key Verse: Ephesians 4:32 (CSB): “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

I watched a touching trending video story of a certain lady that worked in a frozen meat company. She’s been a good worker for half a decade; but at the close of a fateful day, when she went to store away unsold meat in the freezer, the door of the freezer mistakenly closed on her, locking her up in the freezer. She banged hard and shouted on top of her voice but no one could hear her. And unfortunately, everyone had closed and left the factory. She might be frozen only in an hour or so. She thought that was the end of life for her; but on a twist of faith, the freezer-door suddenly and unexpectedly opened. It was the security man that had searched everywhere in the factory looking for her.

Why was the man looking for her everywhere? For 5 years, this woman was the only staff committed to sharing her beautiful smiles, giving kindness and waving this old man each day at closing. He saw her resume in the morning; but the whole staff had left and no one waved at him and gave a smile. He knew something had happened and was looking for this kind lady everywhere. Friends, nothing spreads joy like kindness. It’s always so refreshing to know that someone cares. And every little seed of kindness sown to others always comes back. People who smile get it in return. It will be so nice, and make a huge difference in the world, if Christians will be devoted to one another in genuine love. Because our Lord really wants us, above all other virtues, to put on love, which binds every other virtue together in perfect unity. Be kind to others, tenderhearted, and forgiving.
