A Receiving Faith

Updated: Apr 22, 2020

Daily Scripture Threshing for Tuesday, April 21 2020

Today’s Text: Matthew 8:1-4

Key Verse: Matthew 8:2 (NIV): "A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean."”

Before us this today is a clear picture of a man who, despite all odds, refused to let his fears but his faith to decide his action and destiny. Like him, our uncleanliness and unworthiness stares us at the face and makes us shrink in fear. Lesser things in our lives always seek to hinder the higher things. This man’s feeling of unworthiness kept him at a distance, yet he came. He has no ground to stand, so he fell on his knees.

We too may learn to overcome our fears with faith. If truly we believe in the power of God to save and deliver; we must also quit doubting His will to do it. This scripture teaches us how to easily dispel our doubts. For our faith is strengthened whenever we trust in the will of God to make us whole.

Quote for the Day: "Anyone who deny the will of God to save and deliver also denies His power to do the same.” (Simon Olatunji)

Prayer: Dear Lord, please help me to grow in my trust in your saving power, and in your will, in Jesus most glorious name. Amen.

With all my love and prayer,

Rev Simon Wale Olatunji, PhD
