Today’s Text: Psalm 16: 1-11
Key Verse: Psalm 16:8 (KJV): “I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.”

If you stand before a huge building — say a skyscraper — and you feel so small. Just place a small mirror before your face and see what would follow. First, you will stop seeing the huge building. All you will see is the small mirror before your face. Then, you will begin to see the man in the mirror, which is your own very self. And though the building was bigger in real sense, but whatever you set before your face is bigger by all means than every other thing. In today’s Psalm of David, we can learn the secret of peace and hope when we set God before us rather than all our threatening and terrifying things. The Psalmists learnt this as an all time secret. This settled conviction must guide our hearts always: Not in the moment of peril only, but at all times. Our eyes must be fixed upon God. Unlike many believers today, David never saw God as an abstraction. He saw Him as a Person — a real, living alliance, who walks by his side always. Until we have this settled hope, we shall still be mesmerized by terror of darkness and evil. What keeps us stable and gives strong sense of protection (whether in our character, or purpose, or assignment) from danger is such unwavering sense of presence. That’s what gives the audacity to say: “I shall not be moved.” Jesus is bigger and greater than any mountainous situation that terrifies us: only we have to see Him (Jesus), and not those mountains. Whatever we set before us is bigger.
Quote for the Day: “God at our "right hand" assures us of a counsellor, guide. companion, encourager, and defender.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank You because You are always with me. Please let this assurance renew my strength and give me a sense of settled hope. With my eyes on you, Lord, infuse confidence in me, and fill me with your supernatural power to overcome all obstacles in my path — in Jesus’ name. Amen.
