Daily Scripture Threshing for Monday, June 8, 2020
Today’s Text: Genesis 1:24-31
Key Verse: Genesis 1:26 (ESV): “Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.”

I welcome you to traverse with me: a devotional journey through God’s “let” diary and the spiritual inspiration behind them. The first in the Bible is “let us make man...” We must perceive that God’s idea, motif, regard, worth and making of man is so unique and purposeful that his creation was ushered in by such divine annunciation. By it, God shows that, at last, His work of creation now reaches its highest point, it’s perfection, and ultimate goal.
God wants you to know that you are not a creation of error: no, you’re are born from an indelible divine intentionality. God was not taking counsel with earth or angels when He said “let us make man;” but He was employing the very nature, heart of, and unity of eternal Elohim to call you forth. Don’t let anyone despise, denigrate or berate you. You’re not a mistake. If a male, that’s your best; if female, that’s your best. You’re are in your best in God’s estimation regardless of who and how you are. Step out in such sense of worth and declare: I am blessed, wonderful, beautiful and good. I am made in God’s image, and made to live for Him.
Quote for the Day: "We have many reasons for the worth and dignity of man. But chief among all is the mystery of his creation from united plurality in Divine Unity.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Lord, help me to accept the person that you made me to be. Help me to recognize the plans and purpose for my life, in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.
With all my love and prayer,
Rev Simon Wale Olatunji, PhD
