God’s “Let” Diary (Part 107) — Let It Out to Husbandmen II

Daily Scripture Threshing for Thursday, October 1, 2020

Today’s Text: Matthew 21:33-44

Key Verses: Matthew 21:33 (KJV) — “Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.

We can be grateful that God loves us so much that He gives us daily graces and bestows us with daily mercies. Our father knows how each day brings new challenges, and with his sense of humor and purpose, He brings new meanings out from all previous experiences. In our last meditation we were looking at this same text on the need to be good stewards of life at large. Today, as we begin a new month and the fourth quarter of this unforgettable year, God is challenging us from the angle of our disposition to our duty and to Him as our Savior. He brings before us lessons from the monstrous, unprincipled and hostile manner in which those husbandmen treated the messengers sent to them. One way or the other, each of us have God’s servants sent across to us; but what’s always our disposition to them? We have the Savior who came for us; what’s always our response to Him?

To caution us on how our attitude can get any blessing that represents the vineyard taken from us and given to others, Jesus said “did you never read in the Scriptures," quoting Psalm 118:22. As a gentle savior, He counsels us not to be dragged into an attitude that rejects Him as Messiah and puts Him to death (a second time). There is nothing that can ever cause Him to cease to be the head of the corner of all creation; but for His love He cautions us on the danger of rejecting Him. The kingdom of God is taken from those who reject Him. Any human or spiritual opposing force that falls on Him or He comes into collision with He grinds to powder. That’s why the writer of Hebrews 10:31 says it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. As we begin this new month, I am praying the Lord will show Himself strong against every opposition in your life in Jesus name.

Quote for the Day: "Religion or politics may give a person so much place, privilege, power and pride but we are still tenants in our bodies and on earth.” (Simon Olatunji)

Prayer: O Lord, never let me turn my back on You. But teach me to love and follow You with an open heart, in Jesus name. Amen.

I wish you a happy new month with all my love and prayers,
