Today’s Text: Mark 2:1-12
Key Verses: Mark 2:4 (KJV) — “And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.”
Mr. Trumbull in his exposition of today’s text charged his audience to a daring faith. He believes that this text is an eye opener to a belief in the audacity of faith. At any moment you are ever faced with a task that looks impossible, then you are faced with the glorious opportunity to awaken the strength of faith and just do the impossible. It is our faith that gets us past the crowd. We can learn from these uncommon men: they would not be stopped by “No I’m just a friend, I’m not so much as concerned.” They would not be stopped by the thronging multitude. O, nothing would stop them! Often, our doubts are thicker or harder to pierce than multitudes of people. Until we get past our doubts, we may never get ahead of other huddles of life. These men got past their doubt.
They came with audacious faith that see opportunities in difficulties. Whereas many of us will complain and give up on the thronging crowd. They saw another way. They saw no breakthrough on the ground level, so they got up on to the roof too. That’s the nature of faith that connects miracles: it is always a determined faith. You may have heard that where there is a will, there is a way; but I’ll tell you this: faith is higher than the strongest will. Trumbull said that the best things ever achieved on earth are things that people thought could not be done. So, if you can let down every bed — anything that lays you flat, or lays your friend flat; then I tell you, you will connect the needed help in the presence of Christ, even this very moment. Do you believe?
Quote for the Day: "Strong expression of faith blasts off any roof, takes down any ceiling and removes any peculiar hinderance to the place of miracles.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for Your wisdom and revelation. I believe Lord, please help my unbelief, in Jesus name. Amen.
I wish you a happy new month with all my love and prayers,
