God’s “Let” Diary (Part 130) — Let God Be True, But Every Man a Liar

Daily Scripture Threshing for Sunday, November 1, 2020

Today’s Text: Romans 3:1-8

Key Verses: Romans 3:4 (KJV) — “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

All through scriptures, the integrity of God remains unquestionable. When Balak was angry with Israel and employed Balaam to manipulate God's overruling power to impose a cure on Israel; we are reminded that the integrity of God can never be faulted. God used that situation to teach us that while it is always man's fallen reputation to change their minds, break their words, seek to manipulate a curse for a blessing and/or vice versa; God never changes His mind. He is always true. He never recalls His promises. The writer of today's text reminds the church of all times of this fact. Man may continue to maintain their soiled reputation of falsehood, but God will always true.

The core of this meditation is that human unbelief no matter how rigid or stern can never affect the faithfulness or integrity of God. When Moses doubted that Pharaoh, Egypt and house of Israel would believe his message; God said, no problem about their doubt because I remain who I am. The writer of today's text maintains this position. God's promises will always be fulfilled, even though men fail to believe on them. Men will still not escape God's punishment for sin simply because they do not believe His Word.

Quote for the Day: “The world is always a reflection of falsehood because they are sons of their father; the Christian Church must be a reflection of God in whom there is no variableness or shadow of turning.” (Simon Olatunji)

Prayer: Dear Lord, please teach, strengthen and help us to be like you and walk in godly character, in Jesus' name. Amen.

I wish you a happy new month with all my love and prayers,

Rev Simon Wale Olatunji, PhD
