God’s “Let” Diary (Part 142) — Let Every Man Take Heed How He Builds

Daily Scripture Threshing for Thursday, November 19, 2020

Today’s Text: 1 Corinthians 3:1-12

Key Verses: 1 Corinthians 3:10 (KJV) — “According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.“

Foundation is everything. In order to have good relationships in your life, you need strong foundations. To fester well in ministerial vocations and other careers in life, you need foundation. Enjoying things that matter most to you in your life such as a good family, a great love life, business, ministry, and so on. Foundation is an all important matter because no structure can endure when it rots from the base. The preaching of the kingdom of Christ may not impact the lost world as it should if the foundation is faulty. That is why Apostle Paul is concerned that believers build upon nothing less than the foundation that Christ Himself have laid.

The position of this text is that there is, and can be, only one foundation in man”s spiritual journey or building—Christ Himself is the foundation: He is the very basis of our faith. Salvation is based on the foundation of His name. Our hope rests upon the finished works of Christ. No one can remove that foundation without leaving the Christian faith totally crumbled in ruins. That Jesus Christ was born of the virgin, tried before Pilate, found guiltless but condemned for our sins, crucified and risen victorious for the salvation of humanity can not be diminished or denied — that is the foundation; no other foundation can anyone lay.

Quote for the Day: “Faith is not based upon personal opinion and understanding; it is upon the dynamic revelation of the person and divinity of Jesus Christ.”

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You; deliver me from you are the foundation that cannot fail. Please secure my feet in Your light and help me build an abiding work, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

With all my love and prayers,
