Daily Scripture Threshing for Wednesday, November 25, 2020
Today’s Text: 1 Corinthians 7:17-24
Key Verses: 1 Corinthians 7:20 (KJV) — “
Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.”

God divides, gives, imparts and bestows to anyone. As God has given grace to every believer according to his determinate wisdom. The Christian life is a continual reminder that God alone sees and chooses the course of life of his people. We have no choice but to draw upon the deep providence of God in submission to his will, and follow him by faith. The Apostle calls us to rise against all pressures of life and walk in obedience to the calling of Jesus Christ.
In this text, Apostle Paul instructs believers to imbibe the principle godly contentment in whatever God calls us to do. This means that in whichever condition or circumstances in which we are whenever we are called, we need not seek any change. God sees and knows deep secrets behind each man’s election. Therefore, we must remain uncompromisingly dedicated to standards in which we were called. The goal of the apostle is to preserve order, industry, faithfulness in relating our Christian calling to our socia, political, economic and domestic life.
Quote for the Day: “God's children are not to be anxious against providence so as to try and escape or change their calling, condition, nationality or social condition.”
Prayer: Dear Lord, please fill me with the spirit of contentment to abide in your will, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
Rev Simon Wale Olatunji, PhD
