Today’s Text: Philippians 4:1-9
Key Verses: Philippians 4:6 (KJV) — “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

In the place of anxiety and worries, Apostle Paul encourages each believer in the Lord to embrace prayerfulness as the sure way to peace. Trusting in the Lord is deeper than just overlooking our problems; it is trusting His voice in the midst of turmoil. The story of an amateur pilot who just got licensed to fly a plane was told. He was to land his first plane on a cloudy day, and was beginning to get panicky when a radio message came from the control tower, instructing him to “just obey instructions, we’ll take care of the obstructions.” This pretty much sounds like Paul's admonition in this text. We must learn to trust God even though landing seems to be in jeopardy. Prayer assures us that God always takes care of everything that makes us panic.
Anxiety never prevents an anticipated evil; if it does anything to it at all, I believe, it only hastens it or adds other untold burdens. The life we are expected to live is a life of trustful reliance on the Lord. Anxiety is a display of total disregard for God's ability to take charge of unfavorable situations. It distrusts His power and wisdom; doubts the reality of His promises and deters us from our duty of prayer. As such, Paul tells us to be careful for nothing; thankful for everything; and prayerful for all things.
Quote for the Day: ”Prayer is one of the appointed blessings for peace, and worrying is it's opposite.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, fill my heart with your peace. Give me the courage to trust you in troubled times, in Jesus name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers, I wish you happy boxing, day and a Happy New Year in advance,
