God’s “Let” Diary (Part 177) — Let No Man Deceive You

Daily Scripture Threshing for Monday, January 4, 2021

Today’s Text: 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12

Key Verses: 2 Thessalonians 2:3 (KJV) — “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition

I have been in full time Gospel ministry for 3 decades, but I have personally never seen the level of outpouring of erroneous doctrines like I did in the past year. 2020 was not just a year of pandemic, it was a year of infodemic, and a year of falling away for many. The Lord has given us a new beginning so that we can unburden, renew our minds, and retire for a better life altogether. As it were, all the confusing outpour of conspiracy theories about persons, governments, pandemic, antichrist and mark of the beast are indications of what has already been expressly foretold in 1 Timothy 4:1 about a period of deception and falling away which must be before the day of the Lord. Hence, the charge "let no man deceive you by any means" is coming as a timely caution from falling away or apostasy: which is any defection from the Lord and His teachings.

We are warned never to allow anything or anyone to deceive us into any shade of deflection. The first apostate was the devil himself, who is now in fulltime ministry of promoting deception to cause people to fall with Him. He succeeded in deceiving our first parents into apostasy (Rom 5:19); and is not relenting over us, their posterity. We are therefore warned to take caution because all the signs of beginning apostasy are already with us. We are in a mysteriously lawless age; we face perils from false brethren; beside the many deceivers who are in the world, we have in the Church itself enemies of the cross of Christ. These call for caution because according to our text, they all indicate that we are closer to the revelation of the man of sin.

Quote for the Day: ”Test for apostasy is consistent not only in deflection from the truth; but also in falling away from the visible Church.” (Simon Olatunji)

Prayer: Dear Lord, give me strength to throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let me run with perseverance the race marked out for me, in Jesus name. Amen.

DAY 1 OF 21 DAYS OF DOMONION: Our 21 Days of Operation Daniel Fasting & Prayer starts today with daily gathering in church between 9 and 10pm CST. Use the words of Ezra 8:21 to pray, today, against reversal of the divine process in your life. The secular needs the aid of the spiritual and policy bows to prophecy and not vice versa.

With all my love and prayers,
