Today’s Text: Ecclesiastes 11:7-8
Key Verses: Ecclesiastes 11:8 (KJV) — “But if a man live many years, and rejoice in them all; yet let him remember the days of darkness; for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity.”

We have all enjoyed the goodness of the Lord, haven’t we?! Is this fact is evident in all facets of our lives? Jenkinson in his message, “The sweetness of light” refers us to the awesomeness of everything we’ve received as a result of God’s goodness — from how the fragrance of plants, shrubs and flowers that are so delightful to the smell; to the music of birds and meadows so sweet to the ear; the whispering of the gentle breeze and the murmuring of the purling stream which are so soft and soothing to the soul; the specially sweet harmony of our families, the conversation of our friends, and the fellowship of the house of God; even to the salvation of our souls.
It’s okay to rejoice in all these blessing and more — and of course, give thanks. But we must never assume that these blessings are as a result of our efforts and goodness. No! They reminds us that despite our shortcomings; the light of God’s love still shines brightly upon all; and therefore, the wise preacher believes that this fact should also remind us of the judgement from God. If the love of God is true; so is His judgement. If you trust the scriptures on all matters of divine providence, why doubt it on divine punishment? We owe our lives to God, and we shall account every part of it on the Judgement Day. It is our call and duty to remember this. The day of the Lord is always a day of light to those who love Him and a day of darkness to the wicked.
Quote for the Day: "If you trust the scripture on all matters of divine providence, why doubt it on divine punishment?” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Gracious God, please help me to apply my heart to wisdom, and serve you all the days of my life, in Jesus Christ name. Amen.
With all my love and prayer,
