Today’s Text: Isaiah 45:6-13
Key Verses: Isaiah 45:13 (KJV) — “I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts.”

God started impressing a crucial matter upon us since yesterday. It bothers on how He wants us to demonstrate our dependence upon His determinate counsel and divine government in our life and world. He started showing us more on the fact that when He chooses a plan, no man can truncate it, and when He chooses a man, no system can frustrate him. By this, we know that divine counsel shall stand regardless of human resistance, criticism and murmuring. Therefore, though we never fathom God’s secret of election, we can be sure by all that the prophet have written on tablets of stones that at the end the results will speak.
We may not understand, right now, why God is allowing whatever it is in our like or in our world — the economic hardships, the global pandemic, and other personal loads of care. During the time of this prophetic text, Israel too could not fathom why God chose Cyrus and called him His son. But the truth is: faith walk with God requires that we just trust, follow and obey Him daily though we do not understand what on earth He is doing. Apostle John concluded that though we are children of God, what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
What is it in your life that looks like God’s choice of Cyrus. It may seem like a foolish decision to right now; but in the process of time, God’s infallible wisdom shall soon appear. This was the case at the end. People of Israel saw what God was doing when the city of God was rebuilt, and the exiled people of God are restored to their homeland. They were then like those who dream. So shall it be for us as well. Even, all the world shall then say with us, the Lord has done a great thing. This text is teaching us in postmodern world that He — the loving, righteousness and sovereign God — uses the greed and ambition of ungodly leaders to achieve His glorious plans.
Quote for the Day: "That Cyrus in your life may not love or regard God; and he may not be willing; but at the stirring of God’s spirit, he shall let go.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: O Lord, you know me better than I know myself. You know my fears, desires and needs. Please, don't let my desires blind me to Your will. Help me follow your will, in Jesus name. Amen.
With all my love and prayer,
