Today’s Text: Exodus 19:9-25
Key Verses: Exodus 19:10, 22 (ESV): “The Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments... Also let the priests who come near to the Lord consecrate themselves, lest the Lord break out against them.”

The same God who wrought Himself with mightily outstretched hands to terrify and deal ruthlessly with Egypt is able to show Hinself to Israel in fatherly affection, caring them on His alms as with eagles’ wings; but they must acquaint themselves of the principle that guards the distinction between them and those outside the commonwealth — holiness.
In our union with God, we must make sure our garments are always white: this refers inward and outward purity and is not exclusive of the priests or the people. Anyone that name the name of the Lord must depart from iniquity (2 Timothy 2:19). Our character must revere the Divine dignity and majesty we are known and called by; otherwise, we will be a reproach to the name of then Lord among the nations. That is why, like Moses and the rest of Israel, we all, priests and people, are called to a life of consecration.
Quote for the Day: "An unconsecrated lifestyle is utterly inconsistent and incompatible with divine vocation.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Lord, search me each day, help me, clean me and make me walk worthy of my calling and election, in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.
With all my love and prayer,
Rev Simon Wale Olatunji, PhD
