Daily Scripture Threshing for Wednesday, September 9, 2020

Today’s Text: Micah 4:1-5

Key Verses: Micah 4:2 (KJV) — “And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.”

Upon the same mountain where the same God sent the same prophet to speak a message of chastisement to the same people comes a new message of Hope. God has proven that the former oracle was not a mere threat: Mount Zion had truly become desolate, deserted and despised; but in the midst of the ruins, Micah cries before God, and the Lord caused his tearful eyes to see a new vision of renewal and hope. A vision in which the ruined Zion height would burst forth into an exceedingly glorious city unto which countless multitudes from all nations would flock.

This prophecy is being physically fulfilled this day as millions of people from all over the world, each year, flock the city of Zion to learn the ways and works of the God of Jacob. We are also seeing its spiritual fulfillment as many sons are each day brought unto glory to learn the ways of the Lord our God and to serve the Holy One who reigns in Zion. Therefore, if the Church would position itself like the prophet Micah, and like the new Zion, the mountain of the Lord from which God’s word goes forth, then the ignorance in our days will vanish — for the Lord shall bing as many nations to the new Zion, and teach them His ways. People shall be weary of their broad destructive and miserable ways and nations shall desire to walk in God's way of holiness. God already signaled this revival, and if it must begin today, it must start from you and I.

Quote for the Day: "Unto what Micah saw as many nations, and Isaiah saw as all the world, our Lord has sent His church, designating it as all nations.” (Simon Olatunji)

Prayer: O Lord, help the church today to be a living beckon to your glory; a living light in our world’s darkest night, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I wish all my American friends and readers a happy Labor Day with all my love and prayers,
