Today’s Text: Nahum 1:1-7
Key Verse: Nahum 1:7(GNT): ”The LORD is good; he protects his people in times of trouble; he takes care of those who turn to him.”
This fascinating text assures us that befriending God is precedent to a life of victory. In Uffizi Gallery, Florence, Italy, there hangs a magnificent painting—of the Battle of Ivry—on which the forces of Henry IV of Navarre are in a terrific battle against a fierce host. The picture depicts an awful and bloody onslaught; but also reveals on an upper corner of one side, a great company of warrior angels, hovering with drawn swords. One already knows that God is on the side of Henry, and that for him the victory is sure.
Those who belong to God can always trust in His unfailing goodness for their provision, protection and direction. Though our ages is badly troubled but God knows His own. He acknowledges and recognizes them. By His infallible wisdom and unfailing power, He shields and takes care of them. He knows means that He takes cognizance of just what we need to push this pandemic darkness away.
Quote for the Day: "While roses of divine guardian blooms for God’s people; curses of divine vengeance is the doom of His enemies.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, I stand upon your word, and command Satan to take off his hands and all his attempts to bring disaster upon me and my family, in Jesus Name. Amen.
With all my love and prayer,
Rev Simon Wale Olatunji, PhD
