Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Monday, May 25, 2026
Text: Isaiah 60:1-3
Key Verse: Isaiah 60:1 (ESV) — “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.”

Today’s threshing calls us to awaken from spiritual dullness and step into the radiance of God’s purpose. Isaiah speaks to a people emerging from darkness, discouragement, and desolation, yet the command is not to remain where they are, but to arise and shine. The reason is not human confidence or inner brilliance, but the arrival of God’s light and the rising of His glory upon His people.
The context matters: this is a prophetic word to Zion, promising restoration after seasons of loss and obscurity. The people are not told to manufacture light; they are told to respond to the light that has already come. In Scripture, light often signals revelation, holiness, guidance, salvation, and divine presence. Here, it means that when God steps in, darkness loses its authority and His people are called to live in visible distinction.
This word is for anyone who has felt hidden, weary, overlooked, or overshadowed. God does not merely comfort you in the dark; He calls you out of it. To arise means to stand up in faith, shake off spiritual sleep, and reject the identity of defeat. To shine means to reflect what God has placed upon you, so that others may see His glory through your life. When God’s light rests on a person, that life becomes a witness, a beacon, and a blessing.
Your light is not self-generated; it is God-given. That means your assignment is not to compete with others, but to carry His presence faithfully where He has placed you. The world is not helped by hidden lamps. It is helped by believers who rise in obedience, walk in truth, and shine with the beauty of God’s glory in daily life.
Action Steps: Today, reject every form of spiritual sleep, fear, and shame that has kept you dimmed. Arise in prayer, in faith, and in obedience to God’s word. Ask the Lord to reveal any place where your light has been covered or weakened. Then choose one practical way to reflect His glory today through kindness, holiness, courage, and witness.
Quote for the Day: “When God’s glory rises on you, you are no longer called to sit in darkness but to shine as evidence of His grace.” — (Simon Olatunji #quotablequotes)
Let Us Pray: Lord, I thank You that Your light has come and Your glory has risen upon me. Deliver me from every spiritual slumber, fear, and darkness. Help me to arise in faith and shine with the beauty of Your presence. Let my life reflect Your holiness, Your truth, and Your grace to everyone around me. Make me a vessel of Your light in a dark world. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
