Today’s Text: John 10: 1-13
Key Verse: John 10:7 (ESV): “So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.”

When Olusegun Obasanjo was President of Nigeria, we visited the Aso Rock, the Nigeria’s State House as guests. As long as we came in the name of the President, we could gain access even into many areas that were reserved "for authorized personnel only” and walk freely around. We gained access into the government house because we have been invited as guests of the President. We could enter those places, not really because of who we are, or because of what we have done—for there are countless pastors in the nation—but because of who gave us access. Our names were waiting on a “pass-list” at every door. Our association with the right access opened the gates and doors. So it is when we come before God in the name of Jesus. He alone is the medium of admission to all blessings we seek. Not only does he effect entrance into those blessings; but He is the very access to them. Jesus said: “Truly, truly, I tell you, I am the door of the sheep. Some version deviated from the objective and substantive genitive “of the sheep” to the possessive, or attributive genitive “for the sheep.” In the latter cases, the position of the “for” is more adjectival than verbal, describing and limiting the access to Jesus’ sheep alone.
Indeed, Jesus Christ is man’s only Way to God. As a result of the Fall, the door of heaven was closed to all men. There was no access to God until Jesus Christ who has the key and who is the door opened it and established a free access to all who enter through Him. Through His death on the cross and His resurrection from the dead, He leaves the door of grace—a new living way open for every willing man to enter. No one could go in because of who he is or what he has done. Only our identification with Jesus Christ gives the right and power of admission. He is the Door back to God, man’s only access to all spiritual blessings.
Quote for the Day: “Accessing the presence, grace and blessings of God is nondiscriminatory. Any man, rich or poor, great or small, could enter in if they use that one and only door. There is no separate door for the rich and another for the poor; or one for the white and another for the black. The only door for all is Jesus!” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, I give you praise for blessing us in the heavenly realm with every spiritual blessing, and for giving us access into the God’s eternal blessings. Pease help me, O Lord, let all my shut doors of opportunity open — in Jesus’ name. Amen.
With all my Love and Prayers,
