Today’s Text: Proverbs 9:7-9
Key Verses: Proverbs 9:9 (ESV) — “Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.”

We often take God's blessings in our lives for granted. Today, we will take a look at the gift to learn and grow. On a crisp Minnesota fall afternoon, a four-year-old boy was helping his dad rake leaves in the front yard of their farmhouse. There was a beautiful sight of a flock of geese flying over in a formation shaped like a "V" The boy patiently watched them as they disappeared over the horizon and then turning to his father yelled, "Do they know any other letters?” O certainly not! The man answered; but many of us are not grateful for the ability that God has given humans alone to learn. Animals act instinctively in some given sets of patterns; but we alone have been given the moral dynamism to learning.
We must be grateful to God for the ability to learn. Yes, we take a lot of things that are God’s blessings in our lives for granted. Our text today opens our eyes to another blessing of God by which He continues to make us wiser and better each day. Never take your cognitive skills for granted. Be grateful for the learning ability, the mental skills that are used in the process of acquiring knowledge; never dispise God because it is He who teaches you to be wiser. In education, there are skills that separate the good learners from the bad learners. In essence, when cognitive skills are strong, learning is fast and easy. When cognitive skills are weak, learning becomes a struggle. But the word of God is a both a spiritual and natural cognitive enhancer or booster. We must rejoice at every opportunity to learn the word of God. This text presents it as a gift; an opportunity to grow wiser and better.
Quote for the Day: ”It is wisdom to see God in all the little details and embrace life with gratitude.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: O Lord, help me to grow in Your knowledge and counsel everyday of my life; let my love equal my strength for your work, in Jesus name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
