Let The Lord Have His Way

Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Sunday, February 1, 2026

Today’s Text: Psalm 37:5m1-7

Key Verse: Psalm 37:5 (ESV) — “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.”

Congratulations and happy new month to us. We have made it to February—glory to God! Yesterday we closed a month-long meditation on various topics to explore the theme of waxing stronger for the year. It was such a remarkable journey of faith for me. What about you? Today we open a new chapter of yielding deeper: another spiritual model and dimension to waxing stronger in Christ. The God who strengthened us to be stronger now calls us to surrender to a deeper life of obedience.

In a world where men and women wants to have their way, to let the Lord have His way is not weakness—it is the highest expression of trust and worship. When He leads, confusion bows. When He directs, destiny aligns. Yielding is the posture of power. It is the conscious surrender of our will so that God’s perfect will prevails. Letting God have His way means trusting His timing, following His path, and refusing to wrestle in self-effort.

The carnal mind wants control, but the Spirit-filled heart says, “Lord, not my will but Yours be done.” That is the life our Lord modeled to us, and it's a perfect way to be like him. More so, we have several biblical examples of godly characters that exemplified that yielding to divine direction leads to the best life, and only happens to, or flows from, yielded vessels.

In today’s texts, Solomon and David both link divine guidance to heart surrender. Our obedience prepares the runway for Heaven’s intervention. “He will act,” says the psalmist—meaning God performs wonders where hearts are fully committed. The Lord never takes over what we refuse to release. True yielding is not passive; it is active faith—trusting God enough to obey without full clarity.

To let the Lord have His way this year is to dethrone self, silence anxiety, and submit decisions to divine counsel. It is the opposite of striving in human wisdom or manipulating outcomes. Many believers delay their breakthroughs not because God is unwilling, but because they won’t yield the steering wheel. God cannot guide what we will not give up.

Every revival, every miracle, every transformation begins where man surrenders. Your “yes” invites God’s best. When you yield to His way, He breaks the barriers, redirects your path, and fulfills His purpose beyond imagination. The Spirit of God lives in us not to decorate but to direct. Let Him have His way—fully, daily, joyfully.

When plans crumble, whispers of fear arise, or doors seem uncertain—pause and pray, “Lord, have Your way in me.” That simple prayer releases Heaven’s strategy. February is your month to yield, trust, and watch God take over your story. The surrendered heart is the secret of supernatural fruitfulness. The more you let go, the more God shows up.

Action Steps: Today, surrender one area of your life that you’ve struggled to control. Pray Psalm 37:5 slowly three times. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas where self-will is blocking divine flow. Write down what obedience looks like this week, and take that step in faith.

Quote for the Day: “Yielding is not losing control; it’s giving control to the One who never fails. Let the Lord have His way—then His wonders will have your life.” — (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)

Let Us Pray: Dear Heavenly Father, today I step aside and let You lead. Rule my thoughts, govern my plans, and direct my paths. I surrender all hidden fears and silent struggles to You. Let Your will be done in me as in Heaven. Have Your way, Lord—until my desires align with Yours and Your glory fills every area of my life. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
