Today’s Text: Acts 4:1-14
Key Verse: Acts 4:12 (NIV): “There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

Whereas, modern secularism in some senses contends with religious diversity; modern pluralism embraces and celebrates diversity. The latter promotes religious neutrality and rejects the Christian exclusive claim to salvation through Jesus Christ alone. But Peter, being filled with the Holy Spirit, boldly declared that Jesus is the only name given by God through which all men may be saved. The name of Jesus is given to men of every age and nation. This claims gives no apologies to man’s insatiable search for nothing. Yes, it is not a respecter of our secular private binary or public plurality. Anyone who rejects Jesus Christ is lost; and anyone who believes in Him is saved from the coming wrath of God. Q.E.D!
Beside Jesus, all humanity stand condemned before a just and holy God. We stand condemned by reason of our sin; and no reason of our senses can save us. But the good news is that Jesus Christ the Son of God took our place by dying on the cross. He made a way for us to be saved and delivered from judgment. The word of the Lord tells us that Jesus, the Messiah came "to seek and to save that which was lost." Therefore, if you can acknowledge yourself as a sinner, repent of the sins, ask for His forgiveness, and put your trust in Him to save you, you shall be saved indeed. There is no other way beside this. Religion will not save us. Morality will not deliver us. Wealth and fame will surely fail us. Only the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the cross is God-given way of escape from the consequences of our sin. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23) So, friends, how shall you escape if you neglect such a great salvation? What will you say to God when you are face-to-face with the reality? If you are in doubt about how to face God at the end, or what to say to Him; why not settle it now—for it will be too late thenl.
Quote for the Day: “Secular minds are being shaped by the entwined concepts of pluralism. The secular church gives allowance to publics rationality. But God's salvation plan has no apologies: it remains salvation through Jesus Christ alone.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, open my eyes and minds so that my ears may be receptive to Your truth. Give me grace to repent, find Your light and receive Your love. I admit that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. Jesus, I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. These I ask in Your most precious' name. Amen.
If you said this prayer sincerely, I welcome you to God's family, with all my love and prayers,
Rev Simon Wale Olatunji, Ph.D.
