Nurture the Grace

ily Scripture Threshing for Tuesday, January 28, 2020

Today’s Text: Titus 2:11–14

Key Verses: Titus 2:11–12 (ESV): ”For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, 12 training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,

It was a sad occurrence, but we can always look back to a few lessons learned from Word War II. We can learn from the few brave German Christians who had the courage to say no to Adolph Hitler when so many others said yes or simply kept silent. What made the difference is always the ability to nurture the grace that we all are already given. It not easy to say no when everyone else says yes. But we are called to conform to the image of Christ, not of the world.

Today’s text makes the work of grace so clear to us. If and when we allow grace to be nurtured in us, it is possible to stand up tall for Jesus in an age when others around us fall. Denial is always first in a man’s heart before it translates into deeds. God’s grace helps us denial of self by repudiating all ungodliness in our heart and life. Since this is true; why then do we accuse God’s Grace in condoning our sins and failures? Is grace not the basis upon which the whole work of our redemption from darkness to light based? Let us all nurture God’s grace given to us and not take it as an occasion to sin.

Quote for the Day: ”Being a peculiar person may not be popular, but it is not impossible.”(Simon Olatunji)

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your grace poured forth generously upon me. Help me Lord not to receive your grace in vain. This I pray Lord in your most gracious name! Amen.

With all my love and prayer,
