Today Text: Isaiah 25:1-6
Key Verse: Isaiah 25:1 (NIV): “Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago.”
Is there any doubt at all that the God we serve is faithful? No. No shade of doubt at all. Over and over again, the faithfulness of God is being demonstrated by His works in and around us. His power reveals His awesome faithfulness in innumerable ways. God is faithful to the ordinances of times and seasons. He is faithful in His commitment to the creative order —commanding His Sun to shine on good men, and bad men as well. See how the prophet describes God’s magnanimity to all men in verse 6 (ESV): “On this mountain, the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples.” God is faithful to give rain and harvest. He is faithful to deliver, heal, set free, bless, and protect us.
Our God is amazingly, completely, and perfectly trustworthy. Even when we are faithless, God is faithful still. Let us, therefore join our hopes and voices with this prophet (Isaiah) and declare God’s faithful love, confessing Him as our LORD, and God; and we should exalt Him and praise His name, who, in perfect faithfulness has done marvelous things, things planned long ago. Friends and brethren, God is faithful, and we can all always rely on Him and trust Him. He never suffers the righteous to be moved, and never abandons us even if we deny Him. Therefore, as long as we have life, let us always embrace our opportunity to turn away from our doubts, faithlessness, and sins, and return to the Lord in active faith and faithfulness.
Quote for the Day: “The constancy of hills and stability of earth’s rotation are perfect reflections of God’s constant, unwavering and faithful love.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, O how great is Your faithfulness to me. Your love for me outshines everything. O help me to step out in faith and love for You, and to move others to do the same. Do not allow me to ever grow complacent or take Your faithful love for granted — in Jesus’ name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
Rev Simon Wale Olatunji, Ph.D.
