“Outpouring for Our Offsprings” (Part Three)

*Today’s Scripture Threshing for Thursday, May 30, 2019

Today’s Text: Isaiah 54:9-14

Key Verse: Isaiah 54:13 (ESV): “All your children shall be taught by the Lord,

and great shall be the peace of your children.”

So far in our meditation on God’s gracious outpouring upon our children, we have seen His love expressed to the fullest even in most unlikely and odd circumstances. We have more than a promise: we swim daily in the living spring of His word, which teaches them, runs on their hearts, fills their emptiness and takes care of their futility. This is what this text describes as inward peace.

They have such a glorious inheritance arising from clear discoveries of God’s love, wrought by the Holy Spirit, our teacher. This peace is abundantly given in every aspect—outward serenity, safety, and happiness. Peace is possible when a generation is establishednot in injustice, fraud, or tyranny, as godless children are, but upon a righteous foundation. This is so much of a great outpouring of blessing: ours is a sure heritage, felicity, a future and a hope. The prophet’s conclusion was that we shall be far from oppression.

Prayer: Dear Lord, how we are grateful for your love for us, and our children. Please help us to allow your love, grace and word to be taught to them. Above all, Lord, help them find your peace that surpasses human comprehension, in Jesus name. Amen.
