Refrain from Your Gathered Prophet

Daily Scripture Threshing for Saturday, March 27, 2021

Today’s Text: 1 Kings 22:1-12

Key Verse: 1 Kings 22:6 (ESV) — “Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, “Shall I go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or shall I refrain?” And they said, “Go up, for the Lord will give it into the hand of the king.”

We have all heard that evil communication corrupts good manner. However, many of us still do not give careful thought to our alliances. The earlier career of Jehoshaphat was faultless until he joined himself with Ahab who is notoriously known to amass false gods and gather up false prophets unto himself. Many Christians and pastors are like Jehoshaphat today. They started well in faithfulness to God and zeal against idolatry; but they align themselves with wrong people in life and ministry.

In the spiritual world, bad communication does more than character corruption or compromise; it is as worse as spiritual death. It has lead many godly people into witchcraft and wizardry. That’s why there is so much errors in today’s church and ministry. Most people struggle under a sealed ministry and heavens; and the logical conclusion is that they are gathering prophets unto themselves who are literally prayer contractors. But God wants us to learn from how gathering up false prophets led Ahab into destruction. Do your very best to refrain from prayer contractors.

Quote for the Day: “Character builds reputation and reputation builds influence. The Christians’ reputation and testimony are crucial to their influence in/of the world.” (Simon Olatunji)

Prayer: O Lord, give me the discernment I need to walk in wisdom, and refrain from the corruption of the age, in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

With all my love and prayers,
