Today’s Text: 1 Chronicles 4:1-10
Key Verse: 1 Chronicles 4:10 (KJV): “And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.”

We are still looking at the heart cry of Jabez, a man who understands what it means for God’s hands to be upon him. Yesterday, we looked at biblical cosmology of the right hand of the Lord. Today’s focus will be on the operating system of God’s omnipotent hand in our lives and world. What does this mean? The hand of God through the Bible is profound. It is man’s surest source of strength: Ezra (7:28) said, 'Because the hand of the Lord my God was on me, I took courage. It is often invisible and intangible but dealing visible miracles in our lives: protecting, guiding, encouraging, strengthening and leading us.
God’s hands is upon your life; and you can recognize it in your daily living and blessings. By his hands He works you through problems, provides for your needs, helps you reach your potential, guides you in doing His will and in making daily choices. These are what Jabez had to enjoy to achieve greater honor than his brethren. Whereas times are hard, and there are many adversaries, God’s hand upon you, is a symbol of his intervention or approval of your affairs. You’d be favored in all you do, prosper where others fail, and stand when others fall. Even when they stand, God’s hands make you out-stand them.
In the revelation of Isaiah (49:16), He said, “Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.” In 41:10, He said “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”And in 48:13, God said, “My hand laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand spread out the heavens; when I call to them, they stand forth together.” So, are you desirous of the manifestation of God’s hand in your life? Do you want to connect, move and see God unfolding His miraculous in/through you? Then, you must endear yourself to to Him through worship, delighting yourself in His word daily—through praying, and actively following what God is saying to you and how He wants you to turn your life around, and He will guide you the whole way, and honor your requests with a blessing that will transform your life forever.
Quote for the Day: “We have heard that prayer moves God’s hands. Yes, but nothing moves God’s hands than walking in obedience.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I crave Your hand of provision, Your hand of protection, and Your hand of power to lead me. Please let me hold Your hand, and like a child walk with You down all ways snd days of my life. Secure me in Your love and strength O Lord, and establish me in Your purpose — in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
Rev Simon Wale Olatunji, Ph.D.
