Speak to that Mountain

Daily Scripture Threshing for Thursday, April 15, 2021

Today’s Text: Mark 11:12-26

Key Verse: Mark 11:23 (HCSB) — “I assure you: If anyone says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.”

Let us turn to another dimension to the text of Mark 11:12-26. Jesus is teaching us that faith is our one greatest secret of power. You show me a believer who would walk or operate in the miraculous; and I will show you the man that walks in the power of faith. Jesus often use figures of speech to illustrate deep spiritual truths. During His days, fig-trees are common, and they belong to perennial class of trees which do not at any season wither and dry out. Yes, they have seasons of fruits; but they are always green. Therefore, Jesus uses the fig figure the way He did to teach us that nothing is impossible with God, but when we m realize our limitations, and rely faithfully on the invincibility of God’s power, we can speak to any difficulty and they’d obey us.

Just speak by faith to whatever stands before you as mountain, and it will lay flat before you or move to the bottom of the Sea in the name of Jesus. Whatever it may be: the seemingly unbreakable power of sin, the poisonous wisdom of the world, the manipulation of political powers, controlling influence of metaphysics, perpetuation of ancestral curses, the fierce barbarism of racism, the jealousy and bigotry of false brethren; or all deep rooted difficulties of life that weigh you down emotionally, physically, spiritually or psychologically. The figure of speech “If anyone says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,” is an emphasis on the power of active faith in God’s unlimited ability. God can remove anything far from you which you desire and declare by faith. Therefore, don’t let that physical ailment intimidate you, speak to it. Don’t let that moral difficulty demoralize or demobilize you, address it. Tell that confronting obstacle, standing before you, or between you and God, or before you and you goals, whatever you want it to do, in the name of Jesus, and it shall obey.

Quote for the Day: “The smallest seed of faith puts the loftiest mountains under our feet because faith sees the ability of God, not the difficulty of things.” (Simon Olatunji)

Prayer: O Lord, I speak to every spiritual replication of impossible figs promoting or representing fruitlessness in my life to wither and die, in Jesus name. Amen.

Please have a fantastic Thursday; with all my love and prayer,
