Today’s Text: 2 Corinthians 12:1-10
Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV): “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness...”

True to our depraved Adamic nature, we are insatiable and never feel or have enough. We can’t seem to find anyone to rely on. No, indeed, none of us is even able to rely on his own self. That is why it is important we understand how blessed we are to be able to rely upon God. And, of course, the verse in which we find such Hope and encouragement originates from a place of weakness and frailty.
What this tells us is that our lives are filled with holes which nothing that we try to rely upon can fill except God’s grace. Most people miss this point and miss the true essence of the gospel. They fail to see how grace helps our fractured lives, weaknesses and sinful nature. Here is grace: God in His Sovereign love chose to offer us the blessing of favor despite our rebellious nature and disobedience. He withholds wrath and offers us free path to eternity with Him if we follow Jesus.
The Bible is clear about grace’s sufficiency because it not only leads to our salvation though we cannot save ourselves; but it also helps our weaknesses. God makes grace abound to us to equip us for every good work. By His grace He gives us abilities to serve, witness to the Gospel and speak of the hope we have in Christ.
Grace reminds us that our adequacy comes from God — for without Him we will bear no fruit. All the good that ever come from us comes from the sufficiency of His that is at work within us. If and when you ever get a little puffed up in your Christian life because you have certain abilities, spiritual gift(s) or ministry(ies), you might be running the risk of taking grace for granted. I invite you to join our 3 hours prayer wake today for a deeper dive into the mysteries of grace. It holds by 9pm Dallas time (3am Nigeria/UK time). God bless you.
Quote for the Day: “When a man understands the work of grace in him, self-reliance and boastings give way to a total realization of his weakness, and to a total reliance on God..” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, I acknowledge my weakness. I know that apart from you, I can do nothing. Please remind me to cling to you and to remember that your grace is all I need. In the good times and bad, I need your overwhelmingly sufficient grace every hour, my most gracious God — in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
