Superior Name

Daily Scripture Threshing for Friday, October 7, 2022

Today’s Text: Philippians 2:1-13

Key Verse: Philippians 2:9 (ESV): “Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name."

Scripture’s ultimate revelation about the person of Jesus is His exclusive authority and supremacy over and above all things, names, persons, realms and dominion. The name, Jesus Christ is superior, greater, and more powerful than any other name in heaven and on earth. As a believer, you must understand the power and blessings that are yours in union with Jesus Christ, the Lord, Redeemer, and Savior of our souls.

It is no wonder that the Bible is exclusive and particular that it is in/by Jesus’ Name alone can anybody be saved. Because He is the only One who shed His precious blood on the cross to save us. And, therefore, He alone purchased and sealed the eternal salvation of anyone who receives Him. No other name can save our souls. No apologies needed for those who think the Christian message is too exclusive and particular. But no other name in religion, history or science is able to provide forgiveness of sins, salvation, and eternal life with God. Only Jesus did what is required for salvation. He alone left the glory of heaven to take on human flesh to redeem sinners and make the way to eternity with God for all who believe in His Name.
