Today’s Text: John 14:23-31
Key Verse: Proverbs 4:18 (ASV): “But the path of the righteous is as the dawning light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.“

All through scriptures, the blessings of living righteous and just life is never in question. God is pleased with any man who positions himself righteous before Him. I doubt if there is any better position a man wants to be. In Psalms 27:1, the Lord is pleased to be the light of the just. In Malachi 4:2, He is their Sun of righteousness,” and in 2 Samuel 23:4, He rises upon them as their “cloudless morning light. While darkness covers the land, and thick darkness the people; the life of the just is full of light: a light that depicts a clear understanding and knowledge of God; a light that represents clarity and avoidance of cunning craftiness; and a light in which darkness or any shade of it has no place.
Today’s scripture describes every path that the righteous takes by the metaphor of light. No shadows at all. Therefore, if you are righteous, the more you position yourself before God, the clearer and clearer your light (as described above) until the appointed day of Christ’s glorious return (“perfect day”). Beloved , loving God, following His ways and yielding your life to Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, are all it takes to experience this blessing. Anyone who does otherwise is confined to the opposite — which is a life of sin and darkness. This is the way of the wicked — a dark and dangerous path, dimmer and dimmer until God’s wrath is unleashed against the wicked.
Quote for the Day: “Just living is always in perfect contrast with sinful and wicked ways — one reflects a brilliant light while the other, a palpable darkness." (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for being my righteousness. Please let the light of your countenance continue to shine through the cracks in my life. Help me to continue to shine your light through all dark and broken places of earth — in Jesus’ name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
