The God who Keeps

Daily Scripture Threshing for Thursday, June 30, 2022

Today’s Text: Isaiah 26:1-7

Key Verse: Isaiah 26:3 (ESV): “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”

It our amazing opportunity to know and serve the only God, the creator of heavens and the earth — the promise keeping God. The Bible is filled with His promises; and filled with the assurance that He keeps them. It (the Bible) never fails to assure us of God’s profound trustworthiness and faithfulness to fulfill all His words toward us. As you read this meditation, avail yourself of the faithfulness of the One who promised it. He is the Promise Keeper we can all trust. You can safely trust and claim His word over your life! These words are His words to you despite your personal circumstance. He keeps His own and delivers them from pain and evil.

One of the major issues of our time is security and safety. We are all probably worried about what may happen next on our streets, in the neighborhood, or in the world; but, here, the prophet places before us, his confidence in the safety that God assures us when we dwell in the strong city or the house of refuge. For us, no better house of refuge is any more needed than to put our trust in the God who keeps us. We are daily brought into His fortified places, yes, into the Rock of Ages, and under His shadows. We have no reason to worry or fear: ours is the promise of perfect peace if we trust in the Lord.

The God we serve is a keeper — the watcher of our gates, our defender, our strong city. He never sleeps. He never slumbers. He will help and aid us despite the overwhelming presence of evil in our world today. This promises are yours from the God who keeps promises. Pray over them and speak them out loud and you will begin to see God move in your life for His glory and your good! You don’t have to let anything molest your soul. He will keep you in perfect peace. His words are faithful and true! And He keeps His own. He will keep you.

Quote for the Day: “ “Trust is sitting in an airplane even though you do not know or see the pilot. We may not see God during our nights; we can safely trust Him." (Simon Olatunji)

Prayer: Dear Lord, I am grateful for your word for my life. I trust You, Lord, to fill me with your Holy Presence. Let me rest and be at peace. Let me feel your protection. Let me feel the shadow of your wings in my life everyday and in every way, in Jesus' name. Amen.

With all my love and prayers,

Rev Simon Wale Olatunji, Ph.D.
