Daily Scripture Threshing for Thursday, April 30, 2020
Today’s Text: Isaiah 60:1-12
Key Verse: Isaiah 60:1 (CSB): "Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD shines over you.”

Darkness symbolizes a variety of things —from fear to ignorance, to sin and enslavement, and to the world of evil and satanic abode. It symbolizes fear because you never know what might lurk in its shadows; and evil because men with evil deeds prefer and celebrate it.
Lostness to sin and yielding to the control of Satan is an indication of a life that is marked by anything darkness symbolizes. But through a swift prophetic antenna, Isaiah saw the coming incarnate Light, the Messiah, the Christ, who shall inaugurate hope against despair, peace against war, knowledge and wisdom against ignorance, and glory to imparts freedom from shame. This gives light to those already knocked down by darkness so that they can rise up and rejoice.
Quote for the Day: "The redemption of Zion and humanity is the grandest cause for jubilation. It’s man’s most tremendous reason to arise and shine.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Lord, dispelling all my darkness and cause my night to spring into a shining morning, in Jesus name. Amen.
With all my love and prayer,
Rev Simon Wale Olatunji, PhD
