The Lord is Good

Daily Scripture Threshing for Monday, December 13, 2021

Today’s Text: Psalm 145:1-21

Key Verse: Psalm 145:9 (ESV): “The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.”

As the year is fast running to its end; we have this scripture to remind us to look back on the journey so far and reflect on the goodness of God. We can be grateful for all that God has bestowed upon us by His goodness , and many gifts of love in our lives. Friends, these are seasons t count our blessings, and name them. We must not be tempted to be distracted by all the winding pathways we’ve been through. We have absolutely everything to be thankful for. Regardless of the things that had came at us in ways we never anticipated.

This Psalm is a solemn call to worship. It’s a call to look back on the journey through the years, and trace God’s providence in everything we ever needed. The pandemic has been so fatal. Thousands have fallen by its scourge; but God spares us by His tender mercies. Having been blessed with the greatest gift imaginable by/in His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord, we are confident that there is no good things that He will ever withhold from us. We must never be drawn into the ungrateful spirit of the age— which only live sensitive to negative happenings in the world. If we look around us, we’d see clearly that like as a father pitieth his children, so has the Lord been merciful unto us.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for the encouraging word of the psalmist today. we are grateful for Your goodness and tender mercies through the years. Please help us to count our blessings and continue to be assured of Your love in Jesus’ name. Amen.
