Today’s Text: Philippians 2:1-11
Key Verse: Philippians 2:9 (ESV): “Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name.”

As we come to the very apex of this meditation series; God want us to learn from the fact that Christ’s exaltation is associated with His name. Why do we need a name? There is no way any mortal can stand in the court with such a spiked identity (name) and reputation we all have achieved through Adam’s disobedience. However, because of Jesus Christ’s obedience, we have a different warrant—a different identity, not in ourselves, but in the name of Jesus. There is power in the name of Jesus—atoning power, propitious and redeeming power to which every accusing knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue that rises against us in judgement should confess the supremacy Jesus Christ (as Lord) over judgment.
Do you know the power and glory in the name of Jesus? If you do, you will never ever be afraid of any face of evil. The fiercest of them cringe and bow their knees in willful acknowledgment to the power of/in the name of Jesus. Even those loud thunderous vocal foes melt at the mention of the name of Jesus. Their terrifying voices are left with no choice than to utter confession to the Lordship of Christ. There is more to the name of Jesus. His name means Savior. Applying His name saves us from sin. It delivers from sin’s penalty, guilt, power and punishment. The name of Jesus not only cleanse us from the past, but also protects us for the future. There is mighty power in the precious name of Jesus Christ.
Quote for the Day: “The name of Jesus is greater than every other name in every sense thinkable—in nature, power, preeminence, prominence and power.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, I know there is power in your name and whoever uses the name shall have authority over all things. I have faith in your name. Today, I take my authority over all situations that may want to weigh me down; and I pray in Your precious name. Amen.
With all my love and prayers,
