Today’s Text: Ecclesiastes 9:13-18
Key Verse: Ecclesiastes 9:16 (NIV): “So I said, “Wisdom is better than strength.” But the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are no longer heeded.”

Strength is the quality or state of being physically able; the capacity to withstand great pressure. Almost through all generations people look at strong men and women with fancy and amusement. But today, we are brought face to face with the humbling fact that being wise is better than being strong. In the philosophy of Scriptures, knowledge is rated more importantly than strength. That is why, in biblical cosmology, one must make careful plans before s/he builds or fights a battle. That is why a growing child of God is admonished to learn more, and seek more great counsel he can get. And, the more counsel sought in life, the more likely you win your battles and succeed in your plans.
In this series of meditation, we shall be trusting the Lord to guide us through a path in which we’d see the power we wield when we walk in wisdom. We’d see the reason wisdom is better than strength. We’d learn how wisdom always seeks and follows the path of truth in whatever one seeks to do before it is ever done. We’d drink from the cup of wisdom. For being able to run fast in a race does not make us the winner, but running in a right direction.
Therefore, a man of wisdom seeks to understand the pathway and the tracks. He also learns what it takes to finish the race — without which nothing else could make you a winner. Today, as we face a gradual close of 2022, do a soul search. Are you walking in wisdom? A yes or no is not all that really matters at this point; but something does: what would you do, going forward, to get knowledge above all things, to get understanding, and to buy wisdom and never make any trade of it.
Quote for the Day: “You never know how strong or weak you are, until your inner strength is tried by wisdom.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, I desire your wisdom. Please make me wise towards You; so that I may continue to makes right choices in all my daily circumstances. Help me make good choices though my paths seem unclear and my strength seems so little — in Jesus’ name. Amen.
With all my Love and Prayers,
