Daily Scripture Threshing for Monday, April 13, 2020
Today’s Text: Luke 12:22-26
Key Verse: Luke 12:24 (NKJV): “Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds?”
We often care so overly and work on our shell whereas we neglect the kernel. Our body being the husk and shell while the soul is the kernel—the substance, the most important. But because we see the body rather than the soul, all our focus and worries are on the perishable flesh.
Jesus teaches us not to be so driven by what we see. Our values are never in the seen but in the unseen. Whenever we worry about material things, what we are doing is, we are killing the soul in order to care for the flesh.
The Lord sets before us a food for thoughts to teach us that our worries are needless. To reveal our soul value and worth before God, we are pointed to far lesser creatures whom God cares for. This is a call for us to stop living for the frivolities of this life.
Quote for the Day: "It is absolute error to imagine or recognize any other law, force, spirit, power or being by which all things are sustained beside or outside of God.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Lord, help me to desist from cares of life that promtes lust of the flesh in Jesus name. Amen.
With all my love and prayer,
Rev Simon Wale Olatunji, PhD
