Today’s Text: 1 Peter 2:1-10
Key Verse: 1 Peter 2:9 (ESV): “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

Can you imagine if I were to hold up a $100 bill before you, asking if you would like to have it. I guess anyone would like a free $100 bill. Even if I squeezed the note up. You’d still want it. If I dropped it on the floor and trample on it with my shoe, and lifted it up, now squeezed and dirty; I guess you would still want it. Yes, because regardless of what I did to the bill, it never losses its value. The squeezed and dirty $100 bill is worth as much as its mint. No matter I do to the note, you’d still desire it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $100. In like manner, no matter what life does to you; as a child of God, nothing can devalue you before God. You may have been squeezed up over and over; dropped, trampled, crumpled, and scrubbed against life’s sharp sand—but non of these circumstances can ever make you worthless.
You can never be less than what God makes you no matter what the devil does. There would be no time when you’d ever lose your value. Your worth or value is not in what you have but in who you are. Therefore, squeezed or mint, you will always be priceless before God. You are always a radiant reflection of God’s excellencies and glories both in your body and in the spirit. Never lose sight of this grand truth which Apostle Peter here describes. As a believer in Christ, we have obtained God’s manifold mercies and have been made a peculiar people of His own possession called to show forth the praises of Him who has called us out of darkness. So, get up from the trampled floor, and go forth into all the world and show forth His glory in your life. Amen.
Quote for the Day: “Every child of God—rich or poor, great or small—is necessarily and essentially a peculiar revelation of the Divine nature among men.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, please speak loudly to me and reveal all limiting images in my mind. Replace them with pictures that glorify you and accurately represent who you have made me — in Jesus’ name. Amen.
