A Godly Man

Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Sunday, June 14, 2026

Today’s Text: 1 Timothy 4:12; Daniel 6:1–10; Psalm 112:1–9

Key Verse: Psalm 112:1 (ESV) — “Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his commandments!”

God is always raising men whose lives become living sermons of faith, integrity, courage, and devotion. In every generation, He provides examples of godly men who stand for truth, love righteousness, and walk humbly before Him. Today’s threshing reminds us that godly manhood is not measured by status, strength, or applause, but by reverence for God and consistency in character.

In Daniel 6, Daniel stands as a clear example of a godly man in a corrupt system. Though surrounded by jealousy and pressure, he remained faithful in prayer, excellent in conduct, and blameless in public service. His enemies could find no fault in him except concerning the law of his God. This is what godly men look like: steadfast in private devotion, faithful in public duty, and unshaken by hostile voices.

Paul also gives young believers a pattern for godly example when he tells Timothy, “Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity” (1 Timothy 4:12). A godly man does not wait until he is old to live rightly; he begins now, letting his words, choices, relationships, and integrity reflect the life of Christ. In a world where masculinity is often distorted, Scripture calls men to holiness, responsibility, and spiritual maturity.

Also, Psalm 112 describes the man who fears the Lord as one whose life is established, generous, gracious, and unafraid of evil tidings. Godly men are not perfect men, but they are surrendered men, men who delight in God’s word and allow His fear to govern their decisions. Their strength is not in pride, but in obedience; their greatness is not in domination, but in devotion. Such men become blessings to their families, churches, and communities.

This word is for every believer, especially men who desire to reflect God’s heart in a confused age. The Lord is still looking for men like Daniel, men like Timothy’s example, men whose lives are marked by reverence, discipline, courage, and compassion. When godly men rise, households are strengthened, children are guided, and the testimony of Christ shines more clearly in the earth.

Action Steps: Examine your life and identify one area where your character must better reflect the fear of the Lord. Commit to a daily pattern of prayer, Scripture, and obedience. Lead with humility, serve with integrity, and speak with grace. Ask God to make you, or the men around you, a living example of faithfulness, purity, and courage.

Quote for the Day: “A godly man is not defined by power over others, but by surrendered power under God.”— (Simon Olatunji #quotablequotes)

Let Us Pray: Heavenly Father, thank You for calling men to walk in righteousness, courage, and wisdom. Raise up godly men in this generation who fear You, love Your word, and live with integrity. Strengthen every man to be faithful like Daniel, exemplary like Timothy, and devoted like the psalmist describes. Make our lives a blessing to our families, churches, and communities. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
