A Most Glorious and Priceless Legacy

Today’s Text: John 14:27

Key Verse: John 14:27 (CSB): "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Don't let your heart be troubled or fearful.”

There’s no reason for our heart to sink during these days of trouble. No, because the words of our Lord had already gone ahead to dismiss our fears. The problem is many of us fail to let the word of Christ sink in our hearts. And except His words sink in our hearts, our hearts will sink in the world.

Whereas we need no prophets or any spirit of discernment to tell that we have such an alarming situation of panic, distress and depression already plaguing our generation — even before the ravaging coronavirus. And of course, our governments promise us peace — but people can only give what they have. That’s why the promise from the Prince of Peace Himself is priceless: my peace I give to you.

Prayer: Almighty God, thank you for your abundant mercy, grace and help we receive in times of trouble. Please give us all around peace, in Jesus name. Amen.
