Are You Faithful?

Today’s Text: Galatians 5:19-26

Key Verse: Galatians 5:22 (NKJV): “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.”

When we are faithful to God, it already shapes the way we live. For example, faithfulness to God helps our ability to be loyal in our relationships here on earth. Christian walk with God helps us to truly love others. This is so because you can’t be faithful to God and not be submissive in all our ways to Him. Faithfulness to God comes from a place of realizing that we are to totally in His hands, and that we owe every in accountability and stewardship to Him.

It is a great and blessed thing to believe in God, but it is even more blessed and greater to be faithful to Him in all our ways. When we are truly faithful to God, according to the manifest fruit of the spirit, we walk in the spirit. We grow in this regard by first developing a personal relationship with Him as Lord and Savior, then through the help of the Holy Spirit, we maintain a daily walk of faithfulness and obedience to His commands.

Except this is evident in our lives, we can. It make any claim of life in the spirit. The challenge to us is simple: are we faithful to God? Are there things that are getting in the way of our faithfulness? What areas of your personal life have you not given over to Him? Through spending time in prayer, ask God to make these things clear to you, so that He can grow you up in Him, and help you become His faithful child and servant.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, please help me to remember Your faithfulness today. When my life feels out of control, You are faithful. In the face of upsetting news, You are faithful. Help me become more like You in all faithfulness. And teach me obedience — in Jesus’ name. Amen.
