As I Was With Moses

Daily Scripture Threshing for Saturday, April 17, 2021

Today’s Text: Joshua 1:1-9

Key Verse: Joshua 1:5 (NIV) — “No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

You have heard how God was, walked and worked with Moses. It was by his hands that God showed the world that a rod in the hand of His servant can be turned into a snake. It was by his hands that God humiliated all the magicians, astrologers, gods and the emperor called Pharaoh. By I his hands, God brought Israel out of Egypt With a mighty outstretched hands. He was indeed a great man of God. There is no doubt that God was with him.

What would it be like, if in the same way as God was with him, He is with you also? Have you ever imagined God doing such a great works through you? Or how shall it be if God were to show up before you and say the words of this key text to you? Such is God's word to Joshua when God was getting him ready for the calling. And I tell you, such is God's word to you and I today. We all needed such urgent reassurance and promise. We have before us enemies meaner than Pharaoh. We’ve not been through the wilderness like Moses. We’ve not seen the burning bush and the fire of God as he; but we are blessed to have this quickening divine promise.

God assured us a life of glorious fellowship with Him from this earth till all eternity. We have God speaking to us as he spoke to Moses. He defends us; uses us; fights for us; and does great work with us and through us today. If you give your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior; he will come into your heart and be with you always.

Prayer: Lord, please help me today and always. Fill me with your Holy Presence. Let me rest and be at peace in the power of promise that you will always be with me, in Jesus name. Amen.
