Be His Manger

Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Thursday, December 25, 2025

John 1:1–14 (ESV)

Key Verse: John 1:14 (ESV) — “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

It is worthy of note that the Christ we all celebrate today, though is the Lord of all the hosts of heaven, came not with fanfare or army, but with flesh and frailty. The Word through whom all things were made chose to be wrapped in humanity. The infinite became infant; the Creator became creature; Majesty was clothed in mortality. This forms one of the mysteries of Christmas: God stepping into our story so that we could step into His glory.

Jesus' incarnation reveals that God's love is not distant but dwelling. “He dwelt among us” — pitched His tent in our midst, shared our tears, touched our wounds, and transformed our world. It is therefore important for all of us to know and tell it on the mountain that Emmanuel is not a seasonal greeting but an eternal guarantee that God is with us. He chose the manger as a proof that heaven isn’t afraid of our mess; in fact, that’s where grace loves to begin: right where we've or we're messed up.

Christmas reminds us that divine glory shines not only from thrones but from troughs — not only in angels singing but in shepherds kneeling. God’s glory is now wrapped in grace and truth, calling us to behold Him afresh. When we behold, we believe, and when we believe, we become sons of God (male or female). Every heart that welcomes Him becomes His golden Manger, a priceless Bethlehem where God is still made manifest in man.

Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has come, not just to visit, but to dwell — to make His home in our hearts if you will let Him. That is why Christmas is not merely a day on the calendar but a declaration of divine presence that outlives the decorations. Unfortunately, all the decorations have made many lives the busy inns without a space for Jesus. To celebrate Christmas rightly is to enthrone Him daily in our heart. His birth was the dawn of redemption; His presence is the guarantee of peace, and your heart is the Manger He seeks.

Action Steps: Today, pause beneath the glow of this holy day and welcome Christ anew. Thank Him not only for being born for you but for living in you. Ask Him to dwell richly in your heart through faith, shaping your words, thoughts, and deeds. Carry the light of Christmas beyond the tinsel — shine it in your world through acts of love, grace, and truth.

Quote for the Day: “Christmas is not a moment; it’s a miracle that moves in with us and choosing to stay if we let Him.” — (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)

Let Us Pray: Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for coming to dwell among us. You chose the cradle so I could find the cross and the crown. Dwell in my heart today and every day. Let Your presence fill my home, my thoughts, and my world with grace and truth. Help me shine Your light in dark places and be a living witness of Your love. Merry Christmas, Lord — stay forever in me. In Your glorious name, Amen.
