Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Monday, April 20, 2026
Text: Romans 15:4-13
Key Verse: “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” — Romans 15:13 (KJV)

Today’s threshing speaks to every heart that has looked at life and felt the ache of brokenness. Some things seem shattered by disappointment, delay, loss, or disillusionment, but the God of hope has not abandoned the story. Paul reminds us in Romans 15 that the Scriptures were written “that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope,” and that means broken seasons are not the end of the journey. Even when life feels fractured, hope in God’s promises keeps the soul looking forward with expectation, trusting that the best is yet to come.
This hope is not wishful thinking; it is a Spirit-filled confidence rooted in God’s faithfulness. Hebrews 12:1-2 calls us to “run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.” That is the posture of perseverance. We do not stop because the road is rough, and we do not give up because progress is slow. Small, steady moments of connection with God are often more powerful than rare bursts of intensity, because spiritual growth is built through consistency, not just emotion.
Grace also teaches us that if we have failed in any way, we do not run from God in guilt; we return to Him in trust, knowing that His mercy restores and His strength renews. So, today, if your heart feels broken, fix your eyes forward. The God of hope can fill your heart with joy and peace even before your circumstances change. It is in believing that God fills us with hope, all joy and peace. It is in believing that we abound in hope.
The idea of believing is full unwavering trust in God by prayer. And, it is always the place where we hand over every stress, disappointments, and all our fears. When we do this, we receive comfort in return. And once God has comforted us, we become agents of comfort to others who are walking through their own broken places. Hope in God does not deny pain, but it refuses to let pain define the future.
Action Steps: Begin today by speaking Romans 15:13 over your life and asking God to fill you with joy, peace, and hope by the power of the Spirit. Choose one small daily practice of connection with God and keep it steady, even if it feels small. Release your disappointments in prayer, refuse guilt, and lean into grace. Then look for one person who needs encouragement and share the comfort you have received.
Quote for the Day: “Broken things do not have the final word when the God of hope still holds the future.”— (Simon Olatunji #quotablequotes)
Let Us Pray: Heavenly Father, thank You for being the God of hope when life feels broken. Fill my heart with joy and peace as I believe Your word and trust Your promises. Help me to persevere with my eyes fixed on Jesus, to walk in consistency rather than intensity, and to rest in Your grace whenever I feel I have failed. Comfort me so that I may comfort others and live each day with forward-looking hope. — in Jesus' most glorious name. Amen.
