Daily Scripture Threshing for Monday, March 14, 2022
Today’s Text: Matthew 6:25-34
Key Verse: Matthew 6:33(ASV): “But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Do we truly believe heaven is our home: the true place where we shall never suffer pain or loss? Do we truly believe we’ve got a better life in store beyond this material world? Is God’s kingdom a place where our constant strife against the enemy, tempter and destroyer who seeks to ensnare, steal, kill and destroy us shall be no more? These are rhetorical questions—and our answers are assumed—but whatever that response is, it is obvious we are far from demonstrating a genuine non staggering faith in this scripture.
Clement of Alexandria admonished man to "Ask great things, and little things shall be added to you; ask heavenly things, and earthly things shall be added to you." Today’s Christians needs divine deliverance from two things: materialism and hypocrisy. This is the only way we could stop struggling and wounding our hearts with the sorrows of little things of earth while we keep claiming to have a better home in heaven; while doing nothing to earn that home, and/or doing everything to mar it.
Jesus wants us to know that we are made for God, and must above all things, seek His interest. That is our prime, principal, primary, and preeminent end in life. Put in an imperative voice, our text commands us concerning what our great end and purpose in life is. Our utmost mu be to seek the kingdom of God first, i.e., before and above all other things. We have a great and sure covenant promise of a home with, and from the just, faithful and true Witness. Therefore, we must engage our heart to pursue the glorious eternity with God in His Paradise.
Quote for the Day: “Eternal rest with God is something no believer wants to loose. It is the only way to an eternal ante-past in which all earthly sorrows are totally forgotten.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, as I journey through this life, please bring to me a truer sense of possession and riches in Christ Jesus! Strengthen my assurance that I have a better, more glorious inheritance in you — in Jesus’ name. Amen.
