Today Text: Isaiah 25:1-6
Key Verse: Ezekiel 28:17 (ESV): “Your heart was proud because of your beauty;
you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I exposed you before kings, to feast their eyes on you.”
Do you want to live long and really last in ministry? Then there is something we must remember, and learn from the fall of Lucifer. He must have known, just like we (through scripture) know about the six things that God hates, which are really abomination to Him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and the rest (Proverbs 6:16–17).

Let us remember that Satan’s original name was “Lucifer,” a prince of God, and shining star. He was “chief and fairest of angels in heaven; but because he nurtured a proud complex that made him puff up in his position, God found him wanting, filled with violence, and sin. Therefore, he was casted out as profane from the mountain of God. His pride destroyed him. He was deposed from his office as the covering cherub. He was casted out “from the midst of the stones of fire” (Ezekiel 28:16).
Friends and brethren, the word of God is clear enough about God’s position on pride. The Lucifer’s example also is sufficient to give us a clear glimpse into how haughtiness and boasting lead to God’s wrath and displeasure. Isaiah”s description of Satan’s sin spell out his five clear “I will” statements, which were counted against him as pride (Isaiah 14:12-17). The first on God’s “no-go” area for us is pride (Proverbs 6:16–17). The Bible’s tells us that He hates and resists the proud. This must be a caution signage to all God’s princes and ministers. We must never allow the temptation to get puffy or seek to take or share the glory that should go to God. That’s a Lucifer’s complex right there, and we must flee from it.
Quote for the Day: “Pride is worse than having the Lucifer’s complex. It is more like a direct or indirect affiliation with Satan’s original sin.” (Simon Olatunji)
Prayer: Dear Lord, please help me never to be influenced by what I think or others think of me. Give me a humble spirit than never thinks too highly of myself than I ought — in Jesus’ name. Amen.
