By This Time Tomorrow

Daily Scripture Threshing for Today, Monday, July 6, 2026

Today’s Text: 2 Kings 7:1–20

Key Verse: 2 Kings 7:1 (ESV) — “But Elisha said, ‘Hear the word of the LORD: thus says the LORD, Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel...’”

God specializes in overturning impossibilities and announcing deliverance where human hope has expired. When famine has spoken its harshest word, the Lord can still say, “By this time tomorrow.” In today’s text, Samaria was under severe siege, hunger was crushing the people, and the future looked sealed by scarcity. Yet through His prophet, God declared a sudden turnaround that neither human power nor military strategy could produce. The word of the Lord entered a hopeless situation and turned dread into expectation.

This is the nature of divine intervention: God does not need long process to fulfill His promise. He can shift conditions in a moment, use unexpected instruments, and bring abundance from the edge of collapse. What the city could not imagine, heaven had already prepared.

The lepers outside the gate became unlikely carriers of good news. They discovered that God had already moved in the camp of the enemy, and the sound of deliverance had begun before the city knew it. Sometimes the breakthrough you are praying for is already in motion, even while fear is still shouting.

Child of God, the message of this passage is clear: the God who speaks can also perform. When He says, “Tomorrow about this time,” He is reminding you that your present condition is not your final conclusion. The same Lord who changed Samaria can rewrite your story with mercy, speed, and undeniable grace.

Tomorrow in God’s hands is never uncertain. It may arrive after a long night, but when His word breaks through, shame gives way to abundance and despair gives way to testimony. Let your faith rise above the siege and rest in the God of sudden reversals.

Action Steps: Bring your most impossible situation before the Lord today and speak His promise over it in prayer. Refuse to agree with fear, and choose to trust God’s ability to change your condition suddenly. Act in faith where obedience is required, even if all you can see now is scarcity.

Quote for the Day: “When God says, ‘by this time tomorrow,’ yesterday’s famine cannot imprison tomorrow’s blessing.” — (Simon Olatunji #quotablequote)

Let Us Pray: Lord of sudden turnarounds, I thank You because You are never limited by what limits me. Speak Your word over my impossible situations and let Your power rewrite my story. Turn scarcity into surplus, fear into faith, and despair into testimony. By this time tomorrow, let Your mercy be seen in my life for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
